Hello and Welcome to my site!

I am visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York.
I was born in Ukraine, in 1989 I started a new life in the United States.

Currently I work on Fine Art Photography projects and search for my way in painting.
My path in visual arts is reflection of struggle between different ways of creating visual art - making picture and taking picture.
I've started as landscape and wildlife photographer taking pictures in national parks and zoos.
After a few years I've turned to 3D modeling using computer software to make images. It kept me busy for 2 years, I've learned to make realistic and surrealistic images using professional software usually used for cartoons and special effects in movies.
I've returned back to photography on different level. My favorite photographers became Henri Cartier-Bresson and Andre Kertesz. I learned more about composition studying bestselling in Russia book "Photography as..." by Alexander Lapin (which is the single and the best source to learn composition, not available in English).  My pictures at this stage were black and white because it allowed me to create artistic compositions concentrating on shapes and lines . Later when my compositions became stronger and more sophisticated and shapes stopped being the sole point of my interest I've returned to color.
My best Fine Art series "In Museums" slowly finds its way to exhibitions and private collections.
On the next stage of my development as visual artist I've turned to painting. I came back to "making" pictures but instead of 3D modeling software I use brushes and paints. It will be a long journey and I'll share results with you.
My latest work is "Photopaintings" as attempt to join photography and painting.
The menus on this website are constructed in chronological order - the latest work is on top.
I would be happy to know what do you think about my work.
