Photorealistic Images created with 3D modeling software.

Usually photographer takes picture, painter makes pictures. Photographer has to hunt for image, painter creates image. Photographer has split seconds to recognize good composition, painter can work on composition for any period of time.

There is a way for photographer to work like a painter using computer packages that allow creation of objects and whole scenes. They were used to create animated  movies like "Shrek" or special effects in "The Lord of the Rings".  Mainly these packages are used to create animations, presentations, advertisements, special effects. These packages also can be used to create still images.

Using 3D modeling software artist has complete freedom in composing the picture and lighting it, and the image can be produced without using messy paints and canvas. Digital artist doesn't need to be trained in drawing, painting, color mixing and so on. People who are not born with ability to draw still have a chance to create their masterpiece. But there are some things still required, among others skills in composition and also creative ideas.

There are many packages on the market. After a while my packages of choice became "Vue" and  "Maya".  Vue which is developed by a small French company allows generation of landscape images.  Maya is a generic package that can generate any object and also animate it. Below you can see results of my work with these packages.
